Regal, voluminous and unapologetically magnificent, MONARCA takes the drama of a traditional cape and pushes it into the world of HERENCIA.
Cut as a full circle, the silhouette surrounds the body in an extraordinary sweep of fabric. Closed, it feels almost architectural — strong through the shoulders, framed by a high ruffled neckline. Then she moves. The cape opens, the brocades catch the light, and all that structure transforms into movement.

There is something unmistakably Mexbourne about MONARCA.
Melbourne lives in the darkness, architecture and mystery of a city illuminated at night. Mexico comes through in the exuberance, the richness, the movement and the refusal to hold back. Two worlds colliding without either one becoming quieter.
Even the details carry that sense of excess. Covered snap fastenings disappear into the front for a couture finish, while inside, luxurious Lurex velour and unexpected fabric patches create another layer — one that belongs only to the woman wearing it.
And no two MONARCAs need to be the same.
Each one is created from the limited brocades available in the atelier, allowing every client to choose her own combination and create her own one-of-a-kind MONARCA.

- -MONARCA already does all the talking. Keep everything underneath beautifully simple.
- -Wear it fully closed when you want the complete, regal silhouette.
- -Let your arms emerge through the openings and allow the full circle to fall naturally around you — the volume is part of its power.
- -For evening, I love it over a sleek black base, velvet leggings or something sheer underneath.
- -But don't think of MONARCA only as an evening piece. Wear it over something unexpectedly simple and let the cape completely change the look.
- -And most importantly, walk in it. The full-circle cut was made to move, catch the light and take up space.

MONARCA has a deliberately generous cut. Its full-circle construction creates considerable room through the body while maintaining the shape and proportion of the cape.
As every piece is made to order, I will contact you after your order is placed to confirm your measurements and ensure the right proportions for your MONARCA.
Material
Original HERENCIA sample: A combination of metallic Lurex brocades in emerald, black and gold.
MONARCA is designed to be individually interpreted. After ordering, you will be able to choose your favourite fabrics from the selection of brocades currently available in the atelier, and together we will create your own combination.
These specialty textiles are sourced in very limited quantities, so colours, textures and finishes will continually change — and some combinations may never be repeated.
Fully lined in Lurex velour with special interior fabric details.

The MONARCA shown here is the original HERENCIA combination, but yours does not have to be the same.
Each cape is made individually to order, and you will be able to choose from the limited selection of Lurex brocades currently available in the atelier.
The fabric photographs shown here represent the brocades currently available to choose from.
Once your order is placed, I will contact you personally to confirm your measurements and discuss your preferred fabrics. Together, we will create the final combination for your MONARCA.
Some fabrics are available in extremely limited quantities and may only be enough for one piece.
Once a fabric is gone, that version of MONARCA is gone too.

Specific care instructions will be provided according to the fabrics selected for your MONARCA.
Availability & Ordering
Each MONARCA Cape is handmade to order in Melbourne.
Simply select your size and place your order online. I will then contact you personally to confirm your measurements and finalise your fabric selection from those currently available.
Because each combination is individually selected and the brocades are available only in limited quantities, every MONARCA will be uniquely yours.
Allow 8–10 weeks for your piece to be completed.

Frequently asked questions
-Can I get help with my sizing?
Absolutely! I create pieces that look amazing on different body shapes and sizes. and I make sure you will find the perfect fit for you.
So, this is how it works:
Size S: for a piece that will fit form size 6 to 10.
Size M: for a piece that fits from size 12 to 14.
Size L: for a piece that fits from size 16 to 18.
However, I strongly recommend you to check the measurement on each product as the fit may vary depending on the fabric and on the specific design. If you need further assistance, please contact me at contact@fernandacovarrubias.com.au I'm happy to assist you to find the perfect piece for you
-I love, love one of your pieces but it is SOLD OUT! is it coming back?
When I say is a limited edition, I really mean it, so I strongly recommend you that if you see something that you love, you have to be quick and make it yours before is gone! specially with the one-of-a-kind pieces, as there are not, a there won't be two the same made!
However, making you feel amazing is my priority, that's why I work on costume pieces too, if there is any of my creations that you love. I can definitely make a One-of-a-kind piece just for you, in a similar material or similar style, depending on the materials I have available at the moment. -Do you have a physical store where I can go and check your creations in real flesh?
Yes, I do! I actually love receiving my clients! you can find my beautiful atelier/Shop at 65 little Latrobe 3000 Melbourne VIC.
We are open form Thursday to Saturday from 11 am to 5 pm. (other times by appointment)

-What does the shipping cost?
Nothing! Shipping is FREE in all my pieces!
-What if the fit is not right?
My "Love it" Guarantee.
I make clothes for women, and after doing it for as long as I have, I know what women love to see and feel when they wear my pieces.
So that's why I have a "Love It" Guarantee, which is -
If you don't love it the instant you see yourself in it, I will help you to find yourself a replacement that does make you feel that way.
Ts & Cs:
The replacement item has to be the same or a greater price as the piece you bought in first place, minor fitting for certain pieces (like the hem) can be included in the price.
Items damaged as a result of wear and tear are not considered faulty. However, where possible, I will be happy to repair your much-loved pieces for a cost according to the job that needs to be done.
To be exchanged, (within the first 10 days after you received your order) garments must be in perfect condition, unused, with tags still on, so be careful when trying on, particularly around strong scents or pet hair. Returned items that are damaged, soiled, altered or no longer with a product tag attached will not be accepted and will be returned to you.
All shipping costs for returning your pieces are your expenses and are non-refundable.
I strongly recommend using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance as unfortunately I can’t guarantee that I will receive your returned item.
Colours may vary depending on your computer monitor, so we cannot guarantee your monitor’s display of any colour will be completely accurate.
-How do I know if my order was successful?
If you have submitted an order and are unsure if it was successful, please check your email for the Fernanda Covarrubias confirmation email. This email will be sent from contact@fernandacovarrubias.com.au.
If this email is not in your inbox, please check your junk/spam. If you can't locate your order confirmation, please log into your account on our website and have a look at your order history.
-How do I track my order?
Once your order has been dispatched from my studio, you will receive a confirmation email with a link to track your order.

In the event that an item ordered is unavailable or unable to be filled you will be notified to arrange an agreeable alternative item, a credit to the same value to be used online or at our store, or full refund.
At Fernanda Covarrubias, we don’t mass produce — we create each piece with care, and many of my designs are available on preorder for a limited time only.

Please allow 4–6 weeks for production, depending on fabric and details.
3. We ship worldwide — for free
Once your order is ready, We’ll email you with a tracking number.
We ship via Australia Post, and yes — international shipping is free.
👗 What if it doesn’t fit?
For standard size preorders ( without any custom adjustments ) I offer exchanges or can make fit adjustments if needed.
And in rare cases, if the piece doesn't spark you to you, I do accept returns — as long as the piece is unworn, unwashed, and in perfect condition.
For custom or made-to-measure pieces, I don’t offer returns or exchanges — since they’re created just for you.
But I’m always happy to make any fit tweaks needed to ensure it feels perfect.
