HERENCIA is a made-to-order collection by Melbourne fashion designer Fernanda Covarrubias—a contemporary dialogue between Mexico, where her story began, and Melbourne, the city she now proudly calls home.
Every garment is individually designed and handcrafted in her Melbourne atelier using carefully selected luxury fabrics. Where the design calls for it, reclaimed and deadstock textiles become part of the creative process, allowing craftsmanship—not trends—to guide every stage of creation.
Inspired by the bold colours and artistic traditions of Mexico, interpreted through Melbourne's contemporary design aesthetic, HERENCIA brings together sculptural silhouettes, couture techniques and meticulous hand finishing. Selected garments feature artisan-made embroideries created in collaboration with artisans from Zinacantán, Chiapas, Mexico, alongside Fernanda's signature handcrafted embellishment techniques developed in her Melbourne atelier. Every embellished piece is individually crafted, making no two exactly alike.
