Re-Introducing the Velvet Alchemist Pants — where everyday comfort meets timeless glamour.
These wide-leg classics have become a cult favourite with my clients, so by popular demand, I had to bring them back well,- they haven’t really gone anywhere since I launched them — but this time in a bigger range of rich, decadent velvets including the most fabulous leopard print. The fabric is super soft, deliciously stretchy, and oh-so-easy to wear. Think of them as the pants you’ll never want to take off — glamorous enough to turn heads, yet comfortable enough to live in.
With their beautifully balanced silhouette, the Alchemist Pants create a flattering shape that flows effortlessly with your body. Featuring a high waist, an elasticated waistband at the back, and yes — pockets — they make getting dressed feel as good as it looks. The velvet adds an extra layer of drama and luxe while giving you that little bit of stretch that makes them ultra-comfortable.

I live in these pants. The velvet is so soft and flattering, and the stretch means they hug in all the right places while staying ultra-comfortable. I wear mine with a tucked-in blouse and boots for day, or with a slip top and heels when I want that extra bit of drama. They’re the kind of piece that makes you feel instantly put together without trying.
Size & Fit
Thanks to the stretch in the velvet, these fit more generously than the lamé version. Stick to your true size for a comfortable fit.
- X Small: Fits size 6.
- Small: Fits sizes 8–10
From the top to the bottom down the side: 110 cm approx.
Inner leg: 80 cm approx.
Waistband: 38 cm approx.
Waistband: 46 cm approx. (stretched).
- Medium: Fits sizes 12–14
- Large: Fits size 16
- X Large: Fits size 18

Hand wash cold, or gentle machine wash inside out in a laundry bag.

-Can I get help with my sizing?
Absolutely! I create pieces that look amazing on different body shapes and sizes. and I make sure you will find the perfect fit for you.
So, this is how it works:
Size S: for a piece that will fit form size 6 to 10.
Size M: for a piece that fits from size 12 to 14.
Size L: for a piece that fits from size 16 to 18.

-I love, love one of your pieces but it is SOLD OUT! is it coming back?
When I say is a limited edition, I really mean it, so I strongly recommend you that if you see something that you love, you have to be quick and make it yours before is gone! specially with the one-of-a-kind pieces, as there are not, a there won't be two the same made!
However, making you feel amazing is my priority, that's why I work on costume pieces too, if there is any of my creations that you love. I can definitely make a One-of-a-kind piece just for you, in a similar material or similar style, depending on the materials I have available at the moment. -Do you have a physical store where I can go and check your creations in real flesh?
Yes, I do! I actually love receiving my clients! you can find my beautiful atelier/Shop at 65 little Latrobe 3000 Melbourne VIC.
We are open form Thursday to Saturday from 11 am to 5 pm. (other times by appointment)

-What does the shipping cost?
Nothing! Shipping is FREE in all my pieces!
-What if the fit is not right?
My "Love it" Guarantee.
I make clothes for women, and after doing it for as long as I have, I know what women love to see and feel when they wear my pieces.
So that's why I have a "Love It" Guarantee, which is -
If you don't love it the instant you see yourself in it, I will help you to find yourself a replacement that does make you feel that way.
Ts & Cs:
The replacement item has to be the same or a greater price as the piece you bought in first place, minor fitting for certain pieces (like the hem) can be included in the price.
Items damaged as a result of wear and tear are not considered faulty. However, where possible, I will be happy to repair your much-loved pieces for a cost according to the job that needs to be done.
To be exchanged, (within the first 10 days after you received your order) garments must be in perfect condition, unused, with tags still on, so be careful when trying on, particularly around strong scents or pet hair. Returned items that are damaged, soiled, altered or no longer with a product tag attached will not be accepted and will be returned to you.
All shipping costs for returning your pieces are your expenses and are non-refundable.
I strongly recommend using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance as unfortunately I can’t guarantee that I will receive your returned item.
Colours may vary depending on your computer monitor, so we cannot guarantee your monitor’s display of any colour will be completely accurate.
-How do I know if my order was successful?
If you have submitted an order and are unsure if it was successful, please check your email for the Fernanda Covarrubias confirmation email. This email will be sent from contact@fernandacovarrubias.com.au.
If this email is not in your inbox, please check your junk/spam. If you can't locate your order confirmation, please log into your account on our website and have a look at your order history.
-How do I track my order?
Once your order has been dispatched from my studio, you will receive a confirmation email with a link to track your order.

In the event that an item ordered is unavailable or unable to be filled you will be notified to arrange an agreeable alternative item, a credit to the same value to be used online or at our store, or full refund.

We ship via Australia Post, and yes — international shipping is free.
👗 What if it doesn’t fit?
For standard size preorders ( without any custom adjustments ) I offer exchanges or can make fit adjustments if needed.
And in rare cases, if the piece doesn't spark you to you, I do accept returns — as long as the piece is unworn, unwashed, and in perfect condition.
For custom or made-to-measure pieces, I don’t offer returns or exchanges — since they’re created just for you.
But I’m always happy to make any fit tweaks needed to ensure it feels perfect.
