When it comes to packing for a weekend getaway there is always a bit of struggle! You want to bring enough clothes for every possible scenario. But how do you stay comfortable and look stylish at the same time? If you want to hit the city in style, you have to bring pieces that are as chic as functional. What to pack depends on the destination and the weather there.
The Winter/Spring mix weather in Sydney at the moment is crazy! so I decided to bring a little bit of both, some pieces that can be easily styled night and day. If the idea of minimal packing terrifies you keep reading and check my best tips for a getaway in the city.
Choose one colour scheme.
Although I recommend you stick to the colour scheme that suits you better and you are comfortable with, for this sort of trips a neutral palette is the best, as is the easiest to play with and elevate just by changing some accessories.
Take one statement piece.
Pack something that can be worn night and day. The ideal piece is something that goes with everything, but again stick to the colour palette. It doesn’t have to be boring at all! You can add a chic dash bringing different textures like my faux fur vest.
The perfect crossbody bag.
Take with you a neutral colour crossbody bag instead of a clutch or a tote bag, as you may spend big part of the day walking through the city and crossbodies are the easiest to carry.
The ideal crossbody most be functional and big enough to keep your essentials safe.
Bring 1 pair of shoes.
It depends what your plans for the weekend are, if you are not planning having a fancy dinner you will be fine with only 1. The ideal pair is black or white as they look nice with any other colour. For this trip, I only took my Adidas since our planes for the night out were just going out for dinner and some drinks. By swapping my white top for a black strapless one, I elevated my look.
This is the list of the things I packed:
-Black culottes(for night and day).
-Adidas sneakers(for night and day).
-White chiffon blouse (for the day).
-Black satin strapless (for the night).
-Grey short sleeve shirt (for the day after).
-Faux fur vest (for night and day).
-My essentials like underwear, cosmetic bag, pyjamas, earrings and rings in neutral colours (perfect for day and night)
And that’s it! I usually play around with different accessories depending on my trip.
